About us

If a GP thinks you require urgent attention or an emergency doctor wants you to have further tests or treatment, they'll refer you to us. We're ready to look after you whenever you become ill, even if it's the middle of the night. You don't have to worry about getting to hospital if you feel unwell - we can arrange transport for you. A medical team, including the consultant who's most suited to dealing with your condition, will be waiting to assess you when you arrive. Our specialist cancer nurses give you appropriate care if you have cancer. If you need an urgent operation, we have surgeons on call. If you need a scan, you'll benefit from fast access to our diagnostic imaging facilities. We make sure you're admitted to ICU or one of our other wards promptly if you need a higher or more specialised level of care.

Our specialties

We have the expertise and facilities to diagnose and treat many conditions across a range of specialties. However, we're not equipped to deal with emergencies such as strokes and heart attacks. If your symptoms are life-threatening, please go to your nearest NHS A&E department.
