The lump clinic at Chelsea Outpatient Centre is a rapid diagnostic service for soft tissue masses in men and women, providing comprehensive care and routine screening services. We swiftly diagnose benign lumps and confirm other conditions according to NICE guidelines.

This is a one of a kind service in the UK private healthcare sector, and you can expect to receive exceptional care and treatment.

At our rapid assessment diagnostic clinic, we accept referrals from GPs, Consultants and will take a self-referral from a concerned individual.

Your consultant will then assess your lump and schedule an ultrasound. Depending on the nature of the mass, a biopsy, MRI, or onward specialist referral may be required. As part of our clinic we can offer a  fast track diagnostic screening program, which means you won't have to wait for an appointment, you may be seen and screened in the same location with a rapid turnaround for the results.

Our criteria for accepting a referral to the clinic, is in accordance with NICE guidelines and include one or more of the following criteria:

• The lump is 5cm or more
• It is increasing in size
• The lump is deep within the tissue
• The lump is painful
• The lump has reoccurred after a previous removal

The Lump Clinic uses the latest diagnostic equipment and technology to deliver the most accurate and minimally invasive diagnoses including MRI scanning. 

An ultrasound at the clinic is available on the same day to help with the rapid diagnosis of your lump, your consultant will talk you through any findings.
