Pre-participation fitness evaluation
Led by sport and exercise medicine consultants, this evaluation is particularly suitable for those:
1. Returning from injury or illness and wanting to train again
2. Wishing to build up to a full training programme
3. Wishing to optimise recovery following an illness.
Ideally, the assessment should be completed a few weeks before starting a physical activity regime, allowing enough time to address any concerns that may be identified. These assessments should occur annually, unless there’s a reason to repeat it earlier, for example to assess the effect of a medical intervention or lifestyle change.
The evaluation process is tailored to each individual. Our team of specialists take into account age, injury history and health behaviours specific to any sport undertaken and level of participation.
