    Dr Thangarajah, studied medicine at King's College school of medicine, London. During her medical degree she also complete an intercalated BSc and was awarded a 1st class degree, she graduated in medicine in 2000. Subsequently she completed her paediatirc trianing as a junior doctor at Bart's and London. Thereafter Dr Thangarajah was successfully appointed to the competitive national program for training in paediatric Gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition. During this training she embarked upon her PhD at Imperial college, investigating nutritional assessment in children with chronic intestinal conditions. She completed her training and was awarded her completion of training (CCT) by the GMC, and entered onto the speciality register in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in 2015. Shortly after she was appointed to her first consultant post at King’s college hospital, London in this speciality (2015). In 2018 she was appointed at Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare NHS Trust as a consultant in paediatric gastroenterology.

    Dr Thangarajah is an experienced paediatric gastroenterology consultant, proficient in paediatric diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and recognised JAG accredited trainer in endoscopy. She is directly involved in leading and delivery of specialist services including; feeding difficulties, gastrointestinal allergy , intestinal failure, inflammatory bowel disease, and adolescent services for children with inflammatory bowel disease. Research is still very much part of her clinical work as an NHS consultant. Recently awarded the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition innovation grant for a collaborative project that aims to empower patients and improve communication with their clinical teams through a mobile app. As a Member of the Royal College of paediatrics and child health, British and European Society Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition and European Crohn’s Colitis Organisation she continues to contribute to her field in presenting academic output at international meetings as well as forging collaborative research links.
