    Mr Shah is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in treating Hip and Knee conditions, in particular Joint replacement and revision. He also treats Sports Injuries and Trauma patients.

    Mr Shah trained at Kings College London qualifying in 1997. He underwent basic surgical training and higher surgical training at numerous centres of excellence including Cambridge, Oxford and London. He was a Research Fellow at the RNOH in Stanmore undertaking pioneering work in the use of Stem Cells. He was been awarded numerous prizes and honours throughout his training.

    At the completion of his training he was selected as the International Fellow at the prestigious Insall Scott Kelly Institute and the world famous Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, USA. He returned to the UK and completed a further Fellowship at Guy’s Hospital.

    In addition to his clinical training Mr. Shah completed a MBA at Imperial College London and a Diploma in Sports Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons. His work there focused on measuring and improving healthcare performance and quality. He has been recognised as one of the Next Generation Capital Leaders by the London Leadership Academy. He continues to be involved in this work nationally and internationally.

    He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals in 2012 and has an excellent reputation. He specialises in Hip and Knee conditions. He retains interest in the use of Stem Cells and is currently researching potential uses. Mr. Shah has led the development of the enhanced recovery programme at Guy’s which has won national recognition. Mr Shah is passionate about uncovering new advances and is involved in national trials and programmes aimed to further medical and surgical knowledge.

    He is also working with the Royal College of Surgeons to advance surgical practice globally through the International Surgical Training Programme.

    He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Kings College London and has an active role teaching and lecturing.

    Outside work Mr Shah is a keen sportsman and enjoys numerous sports including football, cricket, tennis, badminton and mountaineering. He also enjoys travelling, reading history and is currently trying to learn to play the piano. Mr Shah lives with his family in London.
