    Mr. Bapat qualified as a Cardiothoracic surgeon in 1998 from King Edwards Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and did a years fellowship in Toronto General Hospital, Canada in 1999. He then completed his cardiothoracic training in UK at Guys & St Thomas Hospital, Royal County Sussex Hospital and the Kings College Hospital, London in 2006. He was appointed as a consultant in Guys & ST. Thomas’ hospital in 2007.
    His main interest and expertise is in the key-hole aortic valve replacement, especially one which spares the breast bone. He is the only surgeon in UK who performs this operation.
    He is a also a world renowned expert in the Transcatheter heart valve technology (TAVI) and has developed alternative less invasive methods for its delivery as well as has performed first in the world transcatheter Mitral devices. He has the largest experience in teaching and training TAVI techniques and has taught more than 150 centers all over the world and is a faculty to all major valve related meetings.
    Mr. Bapat also performs all cardiac operations including complex procedures such as multiple valve replacements and complex aortic surgery.
    He also acts as a consultant to all major device companies to help improve future products and runs multiple research projects in this area.
    He has developed new educational tools using smartphone Apps (Valve in Valve), which are used as reference tools all over the world.
