    Dr Illidge trained in medicine at Guy’s hospital and completed his oncology training in Southampton UK and Stanford California. He completed a Cancer Research UK (CRUK) senior clinical research fellow in 1999-2009 at Southampton University before being appointed professor of targeted therapy and oncology at the University of Manchester. His clinical interest for the last 15 years has been in lymphoma where he has led many early phase and late clinical trials and is recognised as an international expert in lymphoma, having published extensively. Dr Illidge serves on the central steering group of the NCRI lymphoma groups and has represented the UK at international workshops in lymphoma. He leads a translational research group which take new approaches in the treatment of lymphoma from the bench to bedside, funded by CRUK and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and based at the Paterson Institute. He is one of the medical experts for the lymphoma Association as well as the Leukaemia, Lymphoma Research Fund and CRUK.
