    Dr Pierre-Marc Bouloux has been the Director of the Center for Neuroendocrinology, at the Royal Free Campus University College London (UCL), England, since 1991. He is also Professor of Endocrinology at UCL. His department is currently conducting the research on the transplantation of stem cells in the pancreas (the islets of Langerhans) to treat type 1 diabetes. He also acts as principal consultant in endocrinology and diabetes for the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.

    Dr Bouloux is also the author of several books on endocrinology and general medicine, including "Diagnostic Tests in Endocrinology and Diabetes". He has published over 300 articles in various medical reviews.
