    Mr Loïc Lang-Lazdunski qualified in 1991 and trained in cardiothoracic surgery in Paris. He was awarded an MD in 1996 and a PhD in 2000 following a research fellowship at Harvard / Massachusetts General Hospital. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Paris University in 1998 and consultant thoracic surgeon in 2000.
    He was appointed consultant thoracic surgeon at Guy’s & St Thomas’ hospital in 2003.

    He has led the mesothelioma program at Guy’s since 2003 and has developed a program in minimally invasive surgery for lung cancer and mediastinal tumours. He is involved in clinical and basic research in the field of lung cancer and mesothelioma.

    Mr Lang-Lazdunski has published more than 100 scientific articles and has made many presentations at national and international meetings. He has received several awards for his research achievements and he is a laureate of the French National Academy of Medicine.
