    Professor Homer is Lead Clinician for Head and Neck Cancer at both The Christie and Manchester Royal Infirmary, where he has been a consultant otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon since 2002. His practice focuses on surgery for head and neck cancers, thyroid problems, skull base tumours, and head and neck dystonias. He has also established several innovative clinics at these hospitals, including the regional head and neck dystonia clinic, a neck/thyroid lump clinic with surgeon delivered ultrasound, transoral laser microsurgery for head and neck cancers, and a comprehensive skull base oncology service.

    An international authority on ENT/head and neck surgery, Professor Homer presents at national and international conferences and is clinical chair of otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at the Manchester Academic Health Sciences Centre.

    Professor Homer is an active researcher in both translational science and clinical trials, having been awarded over £1.5M in research grants. He leads a variety of research programmes, has supervised many University of Manchester doctorate studies (MDs and PhDs) and published over 100 peer reviewed papers.
