Alastair Sutcliffe is a specialist in both general and adolescent paediatrics. He is a Reader in Child Health at the General and Adolescent Unit, of the Institute of Child Health, UCL and his NHS appointment is Hon Consultant Paediatrician.Alastair trained in Manchester but moved to the National Children's Hospital in 1995 and was subsequently appointed a consultant at the Royal Free Hospital (2001-6). He joined UCLH in 2006. He has an MD from UCL and a PhD from the University of Brussels surrounding his work studying children born after IVF for which he is an internationally known authority. Clinically he is interested in general paediatics , runs the secondary epilepsy clinic and is also involved with clinical therapeutics. Alastair has a number of national roles, including being academic convenor for the RCPCH general paediatics group, Chair of the CSG in general paediatrics and Associate Editor for the Journal Human Reproduction. Alastair is a principle contributor to the BNF for Children and Associate Director of London South East LRN.
