I am a HCPC registered Clinical Scientist (Audiology) and Hearing Aid Dispenser with 12 years of clinical experience (11 years in the NHS and 1 year in the private sector). My skills and experience lie in the assessment and rehabilitation of hearing, tinnitus and balance patients. I completed my MSc in Audiology at Southampton University and started work in 1991 at what is now called Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, completing my Certificate of Audiological Competence in 1993. As a Principal Audiological Scientist, I worked with adults with hearing and balance difficulties. In 2002 I took a career break to spend more time with my young family and get involved in school and community life which I thoroughly enjoyed. In 2013 I took up a position as a research audiologist at the MRC Institute of Hearing Research, looking at the effects of aging on hearing and cognition, before starting work for Holt Hearing and Balance Services in September 2014. In the last year I have enjoyed refreshing and developing my clinical skills by attending numerous courses and gaining lots of experience, particularly in the area of tinnitus and vestibular rehabilitation. I am fascinated by the importance of relaxation and anxiety management in the effective management of vertigo and tinnitus and desire to explore this further.
