    Mr Khan is a highly experienced consultant general, colorectal and laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgeon. He has been a consultant surgeon since 1999. He trained in South Manchester, Warwickshire, Basingstoke and London. In London Mr Khan also worked as RSO at world famous St Mark's Hospital for Colorectal Diseases and gained invaluable experience in management of Colorectal and pelvic floor disorders. Mr Khan set up Key Hole Colorectal cancer surgery, Day case key hole gall bladder surgery and Enhanced recovery after surgery at East Cheshire NHS Trust. For eight years he developed the unit as a clinical lead, Colorectal Cancer lead, MDT lead and enhanced recovery lead. Mr Khan operates on maximum number of colorectal cancer cases and also brings in almost twice the amount of revenue compared to his colleagues at the NHS trust. Mr Khan has performed over two thousand key hole hernia and gall bladder operations. He is a skilled endoscopist with a caecal intubation rate of 96%. A NHS audit in 2013 showed that Mr Khan's patient outcomes were among the top Ten percent of surgeons in the country.

    Mr Khan also has a keen interest in colorectal cancer and key hole surgery research. Mr Khan & his team regularly presents posters and oral presentations at the international meetings UK, USA, Far East & Asia. Just in last Three years they have had seventeen poster and oral presentation. He has a keen interest in teaching and training. He was a Mersey Deanery tutor for speciality doctor for five years. He has been instrumental in setting up MASNoW (Minimal Access Surgery North West) society for advancement of Key hole surgery in the North West.
