Mr Abel has practised as a consultant paediatric surgeon since 1997, having been made a substantive consultant in London 2001. His guiding philosophy in caring for children requiring surgical intervention has been to minimise the impact that this would have upon the child, so that the child and family can grow develop and function overall as healthily and normally as possible.
