About

  • Biography icon plus

Mr. Dani is a Consultant Breast & Oncoplastic Surgeon at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. He was appointed in October 2014 after finishing Higher Surgical Training in Kent, Surrey & Sussex Deanery. His training included stints at the prestigious Guys & ST Thomas’ Hospital.

Mr. Dani graduated from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, which is a premiere teaching institute. Mr. Dani came to UK in 2003 and after three years of research at Mount Vernon Hospital, (studying interstitial fluid pressure in solid tumours and its manipulation to increase delivery of chemotherapy drugs), trained as Specialist Registrar in Surgery in Kent, Surrey & Sussex Deanery. He then specialised in breast cancer and benign breast disease, including complex reconstruction and cosmetic breast surgery. He has done travelling fellowships to Paris & Helsinki and worked with eminent experts in the field of breast surgery.

Mr. Dani specialises in all aspects of breast disease, benign and malignant. He provides oncoplastic surgery for breast cancer patients with immediate and delayed breast reconstruction using implant or patient’s own tissue (Muscle and Fat)..as well as symmetrisation after breast cancer surgery. For a carefully selected group of patients Mr. Dani offers breast reconstruction without disturbing the muscles, thus preserving full muscle function.
Mr. Dani’s special area of interest is local perforator based flaps (LICAP, MICAP), which allow volume replacement of large tumours avoiding need for mastectomy and reconstruction.

Other techniques include therapeutic reduction (removing large tumours with breast reduction), breast augmentation, mastopexy (breast lift), breast reduction, and fat transfer (lipofilling).

After many years of evidence based practice in treatment of breast cancer as well as cosmetic breast surgery, Mr. Dani brought advanced technique of local perforator based flap surgery (LICAP,MICAP) to the people of Kent and London.

This technique allows breast conservation even for large cancers, for which the only option would have been mastectomy and complex breast reconstruction with long recovery. LICAP & MICAP allows patients to avoid mastectomy, retain normal breast tissue and offer quick recovery with minimal hospital stay. In addition to breast cancer work, Mr. Dani takes pride in revising complex breast cosmetic procedures and enhancing aesthetic breast appearance.

In recognition of his exemplary work, he won the award for Best Oncoplastic and Aesthetic Breast Surgeon - England.
