Mr M S Absar graduated from the Calcutta National Medical College in Eastern India and was awarded a degree in medicine at the University of Calcutta in 1993. He subsequently undertook postgraduate training in surgery and was awarded the Masters in Surgery by Utkal University in 1999.

After moving to the UK in 2000, Mr Absar obtained his fellowship in surgery (FRCS) from the Royal College of Edinburgh in 2001. He started a surgical registrar rotation in 2002 under the North Western Deanery. He completed his FRCS in General Surgery in 2007. To further enhance his experience and oncoplastic skills he spent a year out at the Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.

Mr Absar then took a consultant post at the North Manchester General Hospital. He has published a number of papers in journals and regularly presents at national and international conferences. Since joining the Pennine Acute NHS Trust he has started the sentinel lymph node biopsy for auxillary staging in early breast cancers. His main area of interest is oncoplastic breast conservation and breast reconstruction.

Mr Absar provides a breast service for both benign and malignant breast conditions including cosmetic and corrective breast surgery.

At The Wilmslow Hospital, Mr Absar offers a weekly breast Triple Assessment Clinic.
