Mr Matthew Bultitude graduated in London at the United Medical and Dental Schools (UMDS) of Guy's and St. Thomas' in 1997 before later undertaking further higher surgical training in various hospitals around South East England. His desire to expand his clinical knowledge saw him complete a fellowship year in Melbourne at The Alfred Hospital. Following this, he then did a year of sub-specialist training in the stone unit at Guy's and St Thomas’ before taking up his full time consultant appointment.

His extensive clinical expertise means that he can consult on a wide range of general urological procedures. He has been clinical lead for Urology in his department and is now clinical director for transplant surgery, nephrology and urology at Guy's and St. Thomas'. He has been Secretary of the Royal Society of Medicine and spent 9 years as Associate Editor for BJU International.

He consults on all areas of general urology and has a specialist interest in stone disease. He offers the full range of treatments for kidney and ureteric stone including shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL), rigid and flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). He also specialises in metabolic stone disease and investigation and with his colleague at Guy's runs the largest practice of cystinuria patients in the world.
