    Jamie Murphy is a highly specialist Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust, having returned to London from the United States where he was Assistant Professor of Colorectal Surgery at The Mayo Clinic.

    Jamie has extensive experience in both elective and emergency, open and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Jamie’s special expertise centres upon the treatment of bowel cancers that require advanced therapies due to their extent or complexity. As such, Jamie has been responsible for the establishment of an advanced / recurrent pelvic cancer service, a heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) service and also an intra-operative radiotherapy service for recurrent bowel cancer, at both Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and the Princess Grace Hospital. Jamie also has extensive expertise in the management of complex pelvic floor disorders (incontinence and constipation), the surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and functional gastrointestinal disorders.

    Jamie has contributed to numerous surgical textbooks and published extensively in international surgical journals. In addition, Jamie has lectured worldwide on the subjects of advanced minimally invasive surgery and complex cancer, particularly in the UK and USA where he has served as a faculty member for many of the international surgical conferences. Jamie is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of London, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and a member of the Society for American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
