    Mr David Nott is a Consultant General Surgeon with an interest both in laparoscopic (minimally invasive) and vascular surgery. He trained at St Andrews University and Manchester University qualifying in 1981 and was appointed as a Consultant at Charing Cross Hospital in 1992. He also works at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and The Royal Marsden Hospital.

    David has combined laparoscopic and vascular surgery and was the first surgeon in Europe to perform a laparoscopic abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. Since that time he has concentrated more on laparoscopic general surgery mainly for benign lesions and offers laparoscopic hernia repair including incisional hernia repair and intra-abdominal benign organ surgery. David’s expertise includes operations which he performs routinely such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, splenectomy and adrenalectomy.

    David has treated hundreds of patients using advanced laparoscopic procedures. He carries out laparoscopic surgery together with all aspects of open general and vascular surgery. He is trained in endovascular techniques and regularly supports radiologists insert stents for abdominal aortic aneurysms. He carries out local anaesthetic carotid surgery and all types of arterial bypass. David has been trained in the latest techniques of radio frequency ablation for varicose veins and use of the ultrasound scanners.

    For the past seventeen years David has taken four to six weeks off to carry out voluntary services abroad. There may be occasion during the year where he is not available for consultation or surgery. Any dates affected are advertised well in advance and Consultant colleagues are available to see patients during any absence.
