    Miss Nicola Roche is a Consultant Breast Surgeon at the Royal Marsden Hospital. She graduated in 1989 from Trinity College, Dublin. She was initially appointed a consultant breast surgeon at The Royal Free Hospital in 2002 but moved to the Royal Marsden in 2006. She specialises in all aspects of breast disorders, including breast cancer, benign breast problems, familial breast cancer and reconstructive breast surgery. All her outpatient clinics are "one-stop" assessment clinics with radiology and biopsy as appropriate, supported by a specialist breast care nurse. She provides an oncoplastic approach to surgery, which combines plastic surgical techniques with oncological principles. She works in close collaboration with expert Medical Oncology, Genetic and Plastic Surgical Colleagues. She has regularly featured in Tatler's top 250 consultants.

    She is a trustee and meetings secretary of the Association of Breast Surgery. She also sits on the Breast Clinical Expert Group, which advises the NHS on best practice for breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and care. She is a member of the HCA breast board.

    Her research interests include management of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and the de-escalation of surgery in women with breast cancer. She also has an interest in familial breast cancer and breast screening.
