  • Biography icon plus

Jyoti Patel trained at Sussex School of Chiropody in Eastbourne and qualified with a BSc Degree in Podiatric Medicine during 1989.
Ms Patel began her career within the NHS taking up a Hospital Chiropodist & Podiatrist role within the East Herts NHS Trust. The role was based at the QEII Hospital. At the time of joining there was no foot care or foot health service to this sector. Over a 10 year period Ms Patel established and developed a reputable service which won her the respect and support of all hospital consultants especially the diabetes, rheumatology, paediatric and orthopaedic physicians. Part of running the diabetic service included training junior doctors, GP’s, nurses and other chiropodists and podiatrist in diabetic foot care. Alongside this Ms Patel was part of the Northwest Rheumatology Group under the leadership of Dr Adam Young. This as above included treating patients and training primary care and acute care staff.
During this tenure Ms Patel also gave teaching lectures at the Hertfordshire School of Nursing and gave numerous presentations to various specialities and groups.
Ms Patel left this post in May, 1999 to start a family.

Ms Patel returned in 2000 to develop a private practice because this gave the flexibility to balance her desires to continue involvement in her professional and bringing up a family. This initially began on a part time basis from her home with a visiting practice and locum work for an agency. Over the ensuing year she developed a particular interest in biomechanics, sport injuries, musculoskeletal podiatry, orthotics and mechanical therapy. Ms Patel began to work closely with a range of medical and surgical consultants and this naturally led to invitations to provide her services through private hospitals where these consultants were based. Over time Ms Patel has established and developed a reputable musculoskeletal podiatric practice in central London, northwest London and a variety of Hertfordshire based hospitals. Ms Patel enjoys referrals from Consultants in Orthopaedic, General Surgery, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Physiotherapy and other Physicians and Healthcare Practitioners.
