    Miss Arafa is working as a full time consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with special interest in fetal medicine and management of high risk pregnancy at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS trust London. She is the lead clinician for obstetrics and labour ward lead at Epsom general Hospital
    Miss Aliaa Arafa has extensive valuable experience working in a multi-ethnic society with different needs and conditions after 3 years spent working in Egypt and 4 years in Saudi Arabia.
    She came to the UK in 1996, worked and trained in many prestigious hospitals in London and across the country .She has worked in many eminent teaching and university Hospitals:
    - King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
    - Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust
    - St. Mary's NHS Trust
    - West Middlesex university Hospital
    - City Hospital, Birmingham

    Qualifications and experience:
    In addition to her medical degree (MBBCh), she also holds a Master degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MSc) and a membership to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG).

    Following training in obstetrics and gynaecology, she also worked as a clinical research fellow for two years in the fetal medicine unit at the Royal Free Hospital where she developed her interest in the obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound.
    She had advanced/tertiary referral centre training and accreditation for leadership in labour ward, intrapartum care, management of high risk pregnancies and Obstetrics scanning .She obtained the Diploma of Obstetric scanning (RCR/RCOG). Miss Arafa is also certified with the Fetal Medicine Foundation to carry out ultrasound examinations including 1st trimester nuchal translucency.

    Miss Arafa is an expert in management of low and high-risk pregnancies. She develop particular interest in management of pre-eclampsia, multiple pregnancies, intrauterine growth problems and pre-term labour, ante-natal care, all types of delivery and postnatal care and contraception
    Miss Arafa is an accredited colposcopist and has a diploma of Family Planning (DFFP). She offers a full range of gynaecological services including the management of: heavy periods, fibroids, endometriosis and pelvic pain, smear abnormalities and Colposcopy, and polycystic ovarian syndrome, and prolapse problems, menopause and contraception advice.
    She has an approachable manner and believes that although some problems might be expected following childbirth they need not be left untreated. Miss Arafa enjoys practising privileges at the Portland Hospital where she is able to perform any necessary surgery.

    Miss Arafa feels strongly that it is every woman's right to choose the type of obstetric care and support she would like to receive and her top priority is the safety of the mother and child. She combines professionalism with a personal touch, creating an open relationship in which mothers and patients are kept informed every step of the way about what to expect and the choices available to them.
