Mr Sumohan Chatterjee is a consultant breast surgeon with specialisms in breast cancer and reconstructive surgery. He first qualified in India in 1992 before moving to the UK and completing his basic surgical training in Yorkshire. After completing his FRCS, he became a research fellow at the Academic surgical unit at Hull University. He then did his higher surgical training at the North West Deanery and specialised in breast surgery at the Bolton Hospital and South Manchester University Hospital before being appointed the National Oncoplastic Fellowship in Sheffield where he focused on breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. Mr Chatterjee then began a consultant position at Salford Royal Hospital Trust in 2005 and moved to his current job at The Nightingale & Genesis Breast Cancer Centre in University Hospital of South Manchester in 2015.

Mr Chatterjee has an interest in teaching; he has taught and organised courses in implant-based reconstruction and is currently the lead for trainees in his unit. He has published papers and book chapters and has lectured internationally in his field. He is a member of the council of the Asian Society of Mastology.
