Mr Robert Hutchins qualified from the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital. He trained in Liver and pancreatic surgery and transplant surgery at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, under Professor Sir Roy Calne, as well as the Royal Free Hospitals and Hammersmith Hospital.
Mr Hutchins is now a Consultant Surgeon at the Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospital. He is a member of the National Cancer Research Institute Upper GI Clinical Study Group which coordinates all major liver and pancreatic cancer studies in the UK and is a member of the Liver and biliary subgroup.
He is a member of the National Peer review team, which assesses the performance of liver and pancreatic units in the UK and is a member of the London School of Surgery appointing and reviewing performance of surgical registrars. His research interests include the molecular biology of liver, biliary and pancreatic cancers, novel therapies for bile duct cancers and techniques of liver resection. -
