Mr Matthew James is a renowned Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon, specialising in complex hand reconstruction Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust. Matt has more than 22 years of clinical specialist expertise in general plastic surgery, hand surgery and cosmetic surgery.
He is a cofounder and Medical Director at the highly successful Cavendish Clinics.
Matt is currently a senior plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Guys’ and St. Thomas’ Hospital,
Matt is a consultant and trainer in hand surgery reconstruction and cosmetic surgery for the Royal College of surgeons.
Prior to this, he completed his professional training in London, Cambridge, Adelaide, Sydney and the renowned McIndoe Surgery Centre.
Matt James has established his private practice in Central and in South East London and has received referrals from other surgeons in complex limb reconstruction, rheumatoid hands, tendon reconstruction, ganglions, peripheral nerve surgery, scaphoid surgery, carpal tunnel decompression and also wrist reconstruction. Furthermore, he can also carry out all cosmetic and aesthetic plastic surgery.
Matt performs minor skin surgery procedures, including skin cancer excision and scar revision under local anaesthetic.
Matt is a member of several organisations including the British Association of Hand Surgeons, the General Medical Council, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the Medical Protection Society. He has also published in numerous books on plastic and cosmetic surgery and also trains other surgeons in cosmetic surgery and hand and wrist reconstruction at the Royal College of Surgeons.
