Based in Buckhingham, Mr Gurdeep Biring is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee and hip surgery, with particular expertise in primary hip/knee joint replacement, minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, hip and knee arthoscopy, revision joint replacement surgery, hip resurfacing and sports injuries. Since 2007, Mr Biring has been primarily based at the Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe General Hospitals, part of the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, where he is the Arthroplasty Lead. He is also the Director of the Hip2kneeclinic, a private joint restoration and replacement surgery service based at BMI The Chiltern Hospital and BMI The Shelburne Hospital, as well as Spire Thames Valley Hospital. Mr Biring is equipped with a comprehensive understanding of, and extensive experience in, the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions affecting the lower limb.

Mr Biring obtained his medical degree in 1995 at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. He then embarked on Trauma and Orthopaedics training as part of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore Rotation, one of the largest orthopaedic registrar training programmes, where he established a keen interest for lower limb arthroplasty surgery. In 2003, Mr Biring achieved a Master of Science Degree with Distinction in Orthopaedic Engineering, after which he completed the Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (FRCS) Intercollegiate Specialty Examination in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery. He was then awarded with a Surgical Research Grant from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, which allowed him to pursue specialty training in hip and knee reconstruction from 2005-6, at a leading institution in Canada, the Vancouver General and Health Sciences Centre. Mr Biring has received a plethora of other awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Davenport Research Award from Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

His research interests have led him to publish a number of articles centred on the management of patients receiving joint replacement surgery, and invitations to give academic research presentations. Striving to further advance the field of trauma and orthopaedics and optimise treatment for his patients, he remains actively involved in research and maintains close links with academic and research institutions worldwide.

Outside of his clinical work, Mr Biring enjoys spending time with his family. He can also often be found on the golf course, playing cricket, travelling or going to comedy shows.
