Mr Gareth Stables has been looking after people with knee problems for over 10 years. Mr Stables learned over the years is that consultants who specialise in one thing tend to have the best results. That’s why he chose to only look after and help people with knee problems.
There are three main problems that Mr Stables can help you with:
Sports injuries, for example, helping you get active and playing again after a cartilage tear or cruciate ligament tear.
Diagnosing your knee pain, getting to the bottom of what’s causing the pain, arranging investigations such as MRI scans and X-rays, making sure you understand what the problem is and helping you fix it.
Knee arthritis, I can help diagnose knee arthritis early and will be able to offer treatments such as specialist joint injections (that are not always available on the NHS).
If you need surgery, such as a knee replacement, Dr Stables will help you chose if surgery is right for you and will only perform the surgery that is right for you, including patient-specific specialist knee replacement surgery and osteotomy or re-alignment surgery.
Early diagnosis and treatment can help you avoid major surgery.

Mr Gareth Stables was born and raised in Anglesey. Having lived and worked in Liverpool and Manchester he settled in Cheshire with his family and have lived in Cheshire now for over 15 years. Mr Stables enjoys varied interests including world cinema, tennis, & swimming. He is married and has two daughters. They all enjoy keeping active by playing tennis, swimming and exercising regularly. Mr Stables is the tennis captain for a local junior tennis team.
