Dimitrios Paraskevopoulos is a Consultant Neurosurgeon based at London Bridge Hospital and The Platinum Medical Centre. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London.
His sub-specialist interests include skull base surgery, brain tumour surgery, head injury, hydrocephalus and general spine surgery. He has a particular interest in endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery.
He graduated from the Aristotle University Medical School of Thessaloniki in 2000 and has an MD from the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg after research in Neuronavigation and a Master of Science (MSc) in Health Information Management from the University of Heidelberg. He completed his Neurosurgical training in Thessaloniki (Greece) as well as in Heidelberg, Germany (Department of Neurosurgery, University Heidelberg). At the end of his training he did a fellowship in Paediatric Neurosurgery in Tel Aviv, under the mentorship of Prof. Shlomi Constantini. Post-training, he sub-specialized in Skull base surgery and Neuro-oncology as a Fellow at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queen Square. He has also completed training in Gamma Knife Radiosurgery.
His academic research interests include Neuro-endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery, Navigation and Augmented reality. -
