Ben Hartley is Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist at the renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital. He is a leader in the field of Children's Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgery.
Mr Hartley began his surgical career at St George's Hospital in London, before beginning his specialist otolaryngology training in the North Thames Region, developing his skills at a number of London Hospitals. He then trained in Paediatric Otolaryngology in the USA, working with the number one surgeon in the field there, before returning to the UK and taking up position as consultant at Great Ormond Street. He practices there to this day, as well as privately at the Portland Hospital on Great Portland Street, London.
He has always been a gifted clinician, and was awarded the Hallet Medal for being the highest scoring candidate in his Primary Royal College of Surgeons exams. He is director of the British Paediatric Otolaryngology Course, and lectures on the discipline all over the world.
With world-class research into surgery for a variety of children's head and neck conditions, he has published extensively with over 70 peer-reviewed publications to his name, as well as reviewing papers for the Lancet and other prestigious journals.
