Mr Azhar Khan is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at King’s College Hospital and Guy’s Hospital. Mr Khan’s clinical practice includes all aspects of general urology and his specialist practice is primarily the comprehensive management of kidney stone disease and upper tract laparoscopy. He is the lead for kidney stone disease at King’s College Hospital and works as part of the stone team at Guy’s Hospital. He performs all types of procedures for kidney stones including rigid and flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). Mr Khan also treats other upper tract abnormalities, including the laser management of upper tract cancer (TCC) and undertakes laparoscopic procedures for kidney cancer and benign kidney conditions.
Mr Khan’s general practice involves the assessment and care of general urological conditions of the kidney, bladder, prostate and male genitalia. He undertakes a wide range of general urological procedures including laser prostate surgery and transurethral resection of bladder tumours.
Mr Khan undertook postgraduate training at various hospitals in London and his postgraduate research was based at the Bristol Urological Institute. He was awarded the degree of MD from University of Bristol. He has published a number of peer-reviewed publications on stone disease, kidney cancer and prostate diseases. -
