Mr Amulya Saxena is an award-winning Consultant Paediatric Surgeon, based for the NHS at Chelsea Children's Hospital, part of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and he also sees patients privately, including at The Portland Hospital.

His specialist areas include paediatric minimal access surgery – thorax and abdomen, general neonatal and adolescent surgery. His expertise covers tumour surgery, paediatric trauma management, gastroesophageal reflux surgery, gastrointestinal endoscopy/bronchoscopy, chest wall deformities, laparoscopic surgical procedures (Inguinal hernia repair, appendicectomy, cholecystectomy, congenital malformation surgery, vascular access surgery and adolescent morbid obesity management.

After training in Germany, he was a Research Fellow in Surgery at the Boston's Children Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He also served as Associate Professor and Deputy Director in the Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Surgery at the Medical University of Graz, Austria where he also was the Head of Experimental Foetal Surgery and Tissue Engineering Unit.

He is Chairman and Executive Board Member of a number of European and International Paediatric Surgical Societies.
