Mr Eddy was appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon and Kent and Canterbury Hospital, East Kent Hospital Trust in June 2010. He has a specialist interest in Uro-oncology focusing his training on minimally invasive techniques for the surgical treatment of Urological Cancers. In 2002 he was appointed Specialist Registrar in Urology in the South Thames region and trained in General Urology and Laparoscopy in Hospitals in and around London.
To complete his training, in January 2008 he embarked on a 15 month International Fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital specialising in Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery. Over this time he learnt Robotic radical Prostatectomy and has been able to bring these skills back to the UK. In March 2011 he was given the go ahead to set up a robotic service for patients in Kent and performed the first Robotic procedure in the department in May 2011. To date he has experience of over 500 cases and is a recognised trainer and national mentor for robotic surgery
