    Dr Lucinda Green is an expert in providing care for women with a wide range of mental health problems who are planning a pregnancy, pregnant or postnatal.

    She trained at Cambridge University and Charing Cross Hospital and qualified as a doctor in 1993. Dr Green has over 15 years’ experience as a Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist in the NHS. She developed and led an innovative perinatal mental health service integrated with the maternity service at St. Thomas’ Hospital. She then moved to West London Mental Health Trust and became Perinatal Clinical Lead for a new perinatal mental health service for Ealing, Hounslow, Hammersmith & Fulham and Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist at West Middlesex University Hospital.

    Dr Green is passionately committed to ensuring that women have high quality mental health care during pregnancy and after birth. She is a recognised leader in perinatal mental health service development. For the Pan London Perinatal Mental Health Network she has chaired both the South London and North West London Clinical Networks and co-authored the London Perinatal Mental Health Care Pathways. She was a member of the British Association for Psychopharmacology’s consensus guidelines development group for the use of psychotropic medication preconception, in pregnancy and postpartum.

    She has many years’ experience of training professionals to help them to improve the care they provide for women with mental health problems in pregnancy and the postnatal period. This includes midwives, health visitors, obstetricians, GPs and mental health professionals. She was a mentor for the Royal College of Psychiatrists National Perinatal Consultant Psychiatrist Bursary Programme (2017 - 2018). She is a Visiting Lecturer in Perinatal Mental Health at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

    Dr Green works collaboratively with women to help them make informed choices about their care and treatment. She is valued for her individualised approach and compassionate care.
