    Mr Raj Lakhani is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon (adult and paediatric) with a specialist interest in Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is appointed to St George's & Epsom Hospitals and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George’s Medical School, University of London.

    Raj completed his undergraduate medical training at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He was awarded the Drapers Company Prize for academic achievement and the Research Advisory Board Award for his intercalated BSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine.

    Mr Lakhani has developed advanced skills in the care of complex nasal and sinus disorders including rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery. He has trained in specialist rhinology centres including Guy’s, St Thomas’ and St George's Hospitals. He has undertaken further specialist training through observerships at the world- renowned Hirslanden Klink, Zurich and the Clinica del Viso in Milan. He further enhanced his skills through an additional year of specialist training in rhinology and facial plastic surgery at St George's Hospital.

    Raj is well trained in the breadth of general adult and paediatric ENT having completed his higher surgical training in South London. He has also gained a wealth of experience in paediatric ENT having trained at the prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

    Raj has a strong interest in clinical research. He has published almost 30 peer-reviewed articles and has given 50 scientific presentations world-wide. He has been awarded prizes for his clinical research including the ‘Best Short Paper’ prize from the Royal Society of Medicine. In 2016 he was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Medicine national ‘Trainee of the Year’ award. To further his skills in research and to enable him to provide the best in evidence based care to his patients, Raj has undertaken a Masters course in Evidence Base Healthcare from University College London.

    Mr Lakhani has a passion for teaching and training. During his basic surgical training he was an anatomy demonstrator to Oxford University Medical School. He is currently a member of the faculty on a number of surgical training courses and is a fully trained supervisor to surgical trainees. He is also currently joint lead forENT higher surgical training education days across London.
