    Dr Abhi Lall is a Consultant Neonatologist at the Portland Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), London.

    Dr Lall was educated at the King's School Canterbury where he was awarded an academic scholarship. He trained at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. As an undergraduate he was awarded an Honours BSc degree in Biochemistry and went on to graduate from medical school with a distinction (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in the MBBS finals examination, University of London.

    His higher specialist training in Neonatal Medicine was at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson and Obstetric Hospital at University College Hospital, London.

    Dr Lall held a previous post as Consultant Neonatologist at King’s College Hospital, London, from 2004-2019. He has worked at the Portland Hospital since 2016 and at GOSH since 2019.

    Dr Lall was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997 and Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 1998. He was awarded an MSc in Clinical Paediatrics from the Institute of Child Health, London in 1999 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2008. Clinical interests include: Babies and children under 3 years of age. Feeding problems in babies, gastro-oesophageal reflux in babies, vomiting in babies, unsettled babies, constipation, diarrhoea, poor weight gain, skin rashes in babies, abnormal head shape, cough, developmental concerns and immunisations.
    Dr Lall has presented research work on perinatal immunology at national meetings and has also published work in peer-reviewed journals.

    Dr Lall is GOSH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit's lead for risk management and Advanced Nurse Practitioner medical mentorship. He has a major enthusiasm for teaching and regularly lectures on external courses. He is also a Newborn Life Support (NLS) Instructor.
