    Dr Kumar is a consultant gastroenterologist at London Bridge Hospital, Princess Royal University Hospital and King's College Hospital NHS Trust with specialist interests in oesophageal, liver, pancreato-biliary diseases, inflammatory bowel disease and advanced endoscopy. He completed his specialist training in internal medicine and gastroenterology in London and the south east of England and obtained his Certificate of Completion (CCT) in 2014. He is a JAG accredited endoscopist and performs OGD, Colonoscopy and ERCP. He is also an accredited endoscopist for the National Bowel Scope Screening programme.

    He worked as a fellow at University College Hospital London - training in advanced endoscopy and ERCP. Following completion of his training, he was appointed as a substantive consultant for the NHS in 2014. Dr Kumar has presented several abstracts in both national and international conferences and published a number of papers in peer reviewed journals. He also conducts clinical research and has ongoing research interests in pancreato-biliary diseases and endoscopy.

    Dr Kumar is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, Royal College of Physicians, London, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and has represented gastroenterology trainees as a trainee representative on the endoscopy committee for the British Society of Gastroenterology. He is actively involved in training of junior doctors and specialist trainees.
