Dr Vijay Hajela is a Consultant Rheumatologist based at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. He also sees patients privately, including in London at The Lister Hospital and Chelsea Outpatients Centre.

Dr Hajela studied medicine and graduated from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, qualifying in 1990. He then worked in Newcastle, Sheffield and also in New Zealand. Dr Hajela then moved to London and the South East of England to complete his training in rheumatology and general internal medicine. In 2000 he worked at University Hospital Lewisham as a consultant/clinical lead for 10 years before moving to Brighton.
