    Dr Haslam qualified in Medicine at Manchester Univerity in 1989 and specialised in Psychiatry from 1990.

    He trained in Manchester, gaining membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1993 and became a full-time NHS consultant psychiatrist at Stepping Hill Hospital in 1998. During training he spent 3 years at the Christie Hospital providing mental health care and treatment to patients with cancer and their relatives whilst teaching communication skills and researching burnout in health professionals.

    He began providing private mental healthcare clinics at Cheadle Royal Hospital in 1998, moving to The Priory Hospital Altrincham in 2002 and moving to full-time private practice in 2003. He had tenure as Medical Director from 2011-2018 and now focusses solely on clinical practice.

    He co-authored “Coping with Depression: A Guide to What Works for Patients, Carers, and Professionals” with Psychology colleagues (One World Publications, 2011) and a recent paper on psychological treatment for OCD.
