    Simon Williams is a consultant cardiologist at Wythenshawe Hospital, South Manchester where he is a general cardiologist and the clinical lead for heart failure. He specialises in all aspects of heart failure, from community clinics and inpatient MDT work to cardiac transplant, VAD assessment and pacing therapy. Dr Williams is also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester where his research group is currently studying the immune system in heart failure and following cardiac transplantation (with over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals). He was re-elected to the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH) board as Treasurer in 2013 (having held a councillor position 2011-13), and was Programme Director for the BSH annual meetings in 2012 and 2014. Dr Williams lives in Hale with his long suffering wife and 2 kids. He supports Altrincham FC and likes running, skiing and Coronation Street.
