  Dr. Samir Abdelghaffar is a medical consultant working at BHR University Hospitals in London who is specialized in Interventional Radiology (modern, minimally invasive therapies treating several diseases using advanced radiological imaging as guidance). He is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology with research studies and invited talks in the field of Interventional Radiology.
  
  Dr. Abdelghaffar uses vascular interventions to open up blocked arteries in different body regions (angioplasty) and block feeding arteries at sites of bleeding or tumors such as uterine fibroids (Embolization). He also treats varicocele and pelvic congestion syndrome by catheter blockage of the problematic veins. He performs other non-vascular interventions such as opening up blocked biliary passages (obstructive jaundice) by balloons and stents.
  
  After gaining a lot of experience in treating liver cancer using both ablation procedures (Radiofrequency - Microwave) and catheter chemoembolization (TACE), Dr. Abdelghaffar is now focusing on treating two major benign problems which are Uterine Fibroids and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. Treatment is via non-surgical intervention by blocking their blood supply using embolization procedures to induce atrophy and treat symptoms.
