  Trained in Medicine at St Thomas Hospital in London, having previously studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge. Qualified in Medicine in 1976, gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1979 (and subsequently elected as a fellow in 2002). Trained in Radiology at the Middlesex Hospital in London and also spent a year as a Fellow in Radiology at McMaster University Medical Centre in Ontario, Canada( with Professors Giles Stevenson ). In 1986 obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists, and took up a Consultant Radiologist post in Radiology at the Central Middlesex Hospital in 1987. Currently Consultant Radiologist for the North West London Hospitals NHS trust ( Northwick Park, St Marks and Central Middlesex)..
  
  Main interests are in abdominal and gastrointestinal radiology, particularly in ultrasonography,CT and barium work, and in service delivery. Published about 50 peer reviewed articles and has 9 written chapters in medical textbooks. A member of ESGAR since its inception, and was a founder member of SIGGAR (Special Interest Group in Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology- now BSGAR -British Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology) . Chairman of SIGGAR until 2004. Past the Secretary and later the Chairman of the Radiological Section of the British Society of Gastroenterology. Past elected member of the Society of Gastrointestinal Radiology in the USA. Past Deputy Editor of the British Journal of Radiology and elected Fellow of the British Institute of Radiology in 2008.
