    Dr Lieske Kuitert has been a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine and General Medicine for more than ten years, with a breadth of experience in both. She trained in New Zealand and the UK, and has practised in the UK for more than 20 years.

    Dr Kuitert has a special interest in difficult asthma, acute and chronic infections and blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary emboli) and leads clinical research in these areas in the Lung Research Centre at the London Chest Hospital.

    Dr Kuitert is also the Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service and lead of the regional Bronchiectasis service, as well as being a member of Barts and the London NHS Trust Antibiotic Review Group.

    From 2009 to February 2011 Dr Kuitert was Clinical Director for Specialist Medicine in the Clinical Academic Unit at Barts and the London NHS Trust and held overall responsibility for quality of care, patient experience, and outcomes.
