  Dr Balasubramanian has been working with children, since qualified as a doctor in 1993. He completed his higher specialist training at variousr teaching hospitals in London. He worked for the Children’s Acute Transport Service while training at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and at St.Mary’s Hospital London retrieving very sick children requiring Paediatric Intensive Care.
  
  After gaining entry into the GMC’s specialist register in 2008, he joined as a Consultant Paediatrician at Maidstone Hospital at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, Kent. He has special interest in Paediatric Cardiology and Nephrology with close networking with cardiologists at the Royal Brompton Hospital London and the nephrologists at the Evelina Children's Hospital London.
  
  He regularly teaches medical students from King’s College London and St. George’s University London. He is a visiting lecturer at London South Bank University. He teaches Paediatric Simulation and Resuscitation training for medical students and junior doctors. He is a qualified instructor for European Paediatric Life Support course.
