    Dr. Kara Heelan, B Med Sci (Hons), MB BCh BAO (Hons), MRCPI, MD, is a Consultant Dermatologist at the Lister Hospital, The Royal Marsden Hospital and St. Georges Hospital, London.
    Kara Heelan graduated from University College Dublin Medical School in 2006 with an Honours degree. She underwent dermatology training in Ireland following which she undertook research at the University of Toronto and University College Cork. She was awarded her MD Thesis for her work on autoimmune bullous dermatoses in 2016. She had additive international training at the University of Toronto and completed the highly competitive Advanced Medical Dermatology Fellowship with interests in drug reactions and autoimmune bullous disorders in 2013. She subsequently completed a Fellowship in Skin Cancer and Dermatological Surgery at University College London Hospital (UCLH) in 2016. She joined the Royal Marsden in 2017. She is currently a member of the British Association of Dermatologists guideline group for bullous pemphigoid and is lead of the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network (DCTN) urticaria trainee group.

    She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, pigmented lesions, drug reactions and autoimmune bullous dermatoses. She also sees patients with general dermatological issues (eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, benign skin lesions and inflammatory skin rashes).
