Dr Davar is a Consultant Cardiologist at The Royal Free Hospital ( RFH ) ,The Wellington Hospital and Hospital of St John's & St Elizabeth's. He has more than 30 years of experience in Cardiology and is an honorary Assoc Professor at UCL. He specialises in non-invasive diagnosis and assessment of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Valvular Heart Disease, Heart Failure, ,Hypertension, Cardiomyopathies (diseases of heart muscles), including chemotherapy induced cardiomyopathies.

He has organised and led Cardiac Investigations Unit,Heart Failure Service,Chemotherapy Induced Heart Failure Clinic,Hypertension clinic at the RFH .Dr Davar organised and is a lead of Valve Heart Disease and Carcinoid heart Disease Services as well Cardiac CT Service a th RFH.

He is a lead in Private NonInvasive cardiology at the Royal Free Hospital.

His earlier training was undertaken in Tbilisi and Moscow where he was awarded the A.L Myasnikov Prize (1984) of Academy of Medical Sciences of USSR for his book "Mitral Valve Prolapse".His book "Atlas in Echocardiography " (1988) was shortlisted for the State Prize

He then completed his specialist training at The Brompton Hospital before his post at the Royal Free Hospital, where he is the Lead Clinician for Valvular Heart disease, Carcinoid Heart Disease and Imaging (including Stress Echocardiography and CT Coronary Angiography).

Dr Davar is highly active in clinical research and teaching. His interests include Non-Invasive Diagnosis & Management of Coronary Artery Disease,Echocardiography ( many tens of thousands of procedures done ) ,Stress Echo ( up to 25000 casesprocedures done ) and CT Coronary angiography( a few thousand of procedures done ), ,Valvular Heart Disease including Carcinoid Heart Disease, Heart Failure including Chemotherapy Induced Heart Failure , Hypertension.

He published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and regularly lectures at both a national and an international level.

Dr Davar led development of the first International Guidelines in Carcinoid Heart Disease (published inJACC 2017). He was awarded a research grant by the British Heart Foundation , elected an International Fellow of the American College of Cardiology in 2011.
