    Dr Guy Lloyd qualified from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' in 1991. His post graduate Education was in a variety of Hospitals in the south east of England based around Guys and St Thomas'. He undertook a period of clinical research under the supervision of Dr Graham Jackson at Guys Hospital and was appointed Consultant Cardiologist to Eastbourne District General Hospital in 2002. He holds an Honorary Contract with Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals.

    After qualification and basic general medical postgraduate training Dr Lloyd undertook a period of research investigating how cardiovascular impacted and could be ameliorated in women. He also underwent advanced sub specialty training in echocardiography at St Thomas' Hospital.

    Since arriving in Eastbourne, he has established a large stress echo service and the nations first physiologist led heart valve clinic. With Dr David Sallomi, consultant radiologist, he has established cardiac CT scanning and has introduced a cardiac MRI service in collaboration with St Thomas'

    Dr Lloyd undertakes a range of educational roles including teaching and the supervision of higher research degrees at Msc, PhD and MD level and is a senior lecturer to Brighton and Sussex Medical Schools. He continues to undertake research into heart valve disease, dynamic heart function, the psychology of heart diseases and numerous areas of clinical cardiology. He is the author of numerous scientific papers and book chapters.

    Dr Lloyd is President of the British Society of Echocardiography, an executive and council member of the British Cardiovascular Society and one of the founding council of the British Heart Valve Society.
