    Dr Prelevic has been a consultant endocrinologist for over 30 years and has published extensively on a number of topics in her field. She has maintained interest in PCOS, menopause and osteoporosis and has a strong commitment to teaching and training. Dr Prelevic has published over 300 original research and review articles and contributed to over 20 endocrinology texts. She is a member of numerous professional organisations and reviewer for medical journals.

    In her clinics Dr Prelevic see women with wide range of hormonal disorders including absent and/or irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome, unwanted hair growth (hirsutism), hyperprolactinaemia, infertility and thyroid disorders (particularly in young women trying to get pregnant).

    She has long standing and extensive clinical expertise in clinical management of PCOS and pioneered the use of anti-androgen therapy and metformin in this condition. A significant proportion of her clinical practice is management of peri- and postmenopausal women, giving them advice on the risks and benefits of various HRT preparations and individually tailoring and monitoring their use. For many years she has had a special interest in providing young women with premature menopause with comprehensive advice regarding fertility and management of oestrogen deficiency.

    Dr Prelevic consults to men as well as women with low bone density or osteoporosis for diagnosis and treatment. She also undertakes medico-legal wprk in relation to her field.
