Dr George Webster gained his medical qualifications at the Royal Free Hospital Medical School in 1991. After initial postgraduate medical training at the Royal Brompton, the Hammersmith Hospital and at the Whittington Hospitals, he entered specialist training in 1995. Clinical training in gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy followed in London at the Royal Free, Barts and The London, and the Middlesex hospitals, and in Sydney.,Dr Webster later completed a research fellowship in the study of hepatitis B, and has ongoing research involvement in a number of areas, including autoimmune pancreatitis and advanced endoscopy. He has published 40 medical papers, 15 expert reviews/chapters, and is co-author of the Oxford Handbook of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
