    Dr Denis Pellerin is Consultant Cardiologist and Director of Echocardiography at The Heart Hospital. He was trained in Paris and obtained speciality certification as Cardiologist in 1989. As Director of Echocardiography he has been responsible for major and rapid development of this activity across the Trust. He established the best equipped, most specialised and highest throughput Echo Department in the UK which now has National and International recognition as a place to train in new echo techniques and their applications to specialised cardiology populations. The Echocardiography Department provides service on multiple sites including UCLH, The Heart Hospital, and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

    Dr Denis Pellerin has contributed to National and International standards on echocardiography. He is invited speaker and chairperson at major international congresses and is member of 12 professional societies including Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.

    Dr Pellerin holds a specific research interest in the mangement of patients with valvular heart diseases which largely relies on advanced echocardiography for assessment and quantification of disease. He has penned a number of major cardiovascular publications and book chapters, and was awarded 3 major prizes including the Lion Heart Honorary Prize for innovation in the field of cardiovascular research.
