    Dr Adam Fitzpatrick trained at the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital, and qualified in 1982. He underwent postgraduate training in cardiology at Westminster Hospital, the National Heart Hospital, the Royal Brompton Hospital and Wessex Cardiac Centre in Southampton. He trained in cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmias at the University of California, San Francisco in 1992-93, and was an Assistant Professor of Medicine there from 1993-1995. He has been a consultant cardiologist & electrophysiologist at Manchester Royal Infirmary since 1995. He has research interests in blackouts and arrhythmias in adults and children, and has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers on subjects in these areas.
